Dental Crowns & Bridges

Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth.

Crowns are indicated for teeth, which are too extensively decayed, damaged or discolored for treatment by other means.

Dental crowns are a procedure, available at our Dental Studio in London, to strengthen or improve the appearance of damaged teeth. They are an artificial restoration that’s placed over an existing tooth, which may need to be carefully filed down first, to act as a cap on top of it.

A dental crown can be made from a range of different materials, with ceramic, porcelain, or porcelain bonded to metal being the most commonly used ones. What material is used for your crown will depend on the reason for needing the crown and the location of the tooth needing the crown.

Dental Studio, crowns to replace a tooth

During the preparation stage, we will note the colour of the teeth either side of the one where the crown will be fitted, and ensure that the colour of the custom crown we make matches those so the final result looks natural.

Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use porcelain or porcelain “pasted on gold” crowns to make you smile with confidence again. This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth.
We are renowned for the quality of our work and these treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems.

tooth bridges

A bridge is a number of crowns joined together which allows one or more missing teeth to be replaced without using a denture or dental implant.

A bridge is recommended for optimum dental health. It can restore and help maintain your natural bite, it prevents unnatural stress on adjacent teeth and it helps discourage further dental decay and periodontal problem.

Dental crown and bridges is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused by accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. The material used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. A higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials is recommended to treat the most serious of dental problems. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. And in teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent breakage.
